Bird watching is rapidly gaining popularity as an open-air activity so if you are someone who is interested in this, there are some hints that will make this experience more fun. When you first commence, distinguishing birds apart will be a challenge as they are fast creatures and hard to see So you’ll have to do your best to recognize as many points as possible in a short space of time. When a bird enters your sight, make the most of it, employing all the time you’ve and document it’s color, size, sounds and feeding characteristics and size. Nevertheless, you can also set about sketching matters that catch your eye just make sure that you are doing everything you possibly can to document and observe the bird while it’s available to you.

Write down anything you have noticed, in the notebook that you keep with you since those details will later help you when you sit down and try to identify the species.

As far as equipment goes, it’s always good to carry binoculars and make sure to wear camouflage so that birds won’t spot them and be spooked. Long sleeved shirts, and long pants will go a long way in a wooded area, leech socks are a very good investment in this hobby. Invest in a pair of field boots since they’ll help you traverse rough terrain, hills, and wet areas. Bird watchers will be able to take shelter in some parks both elevated and ground level which assist bird watchers and photographers alike.

If you are with friends family and suddenly you have spotted a rare bird specie, try to avoid giving vague directions, I know you can’t use hand signals, but you can point to landmarks after they know where to look, start giving more detailed directions. Once the person is looking at the right object, give directions using clock hands and times as directions To give the proper directions, make sure you practice when you go out birdwatching by yourself.

Remember, bird watching is a recreational activity that you can only utilize to it’s full potential how to get the best results.
